One of the most profound statements I’ve read recently about how to succeed if you do blogging or write other website content: Write about what people are looking for.
For years, part of my career and my livelihood has been writing content for various affiliate marketing websites I own and writing articles for some “how-to” and blog websites. I read that statement, “write about what other people are looking for,” yesterday in a post at a forum I frequent regularly. Of course I’ve known the truth in the statement for a long time, ever since I started trying to do keyword research and trying to find ways to get visitors to come to my websites.

If you’ve got a website, or you do blogging, or you simply do “direct-to-merchant” affiliate marketing, and you wonder why you’re seeing no results for the work you’re putting in, maybe it’s time to restate the obvious: Whatever your best efforts at writing online may be, you’ll see no results without “traffic.”

Here are a few tips to help you write titles and articles for content on your website or blog:
1. Write a title that’s a “grabber,” and that contains your keyword(s). A good title will catch the reader’s attention and contain — preferably as the first words in the title — the keywords you wish to focus on with your article. I did an article a couple of years ago about writing titles. You might want to take a look at that.

I was hoping to get some comments on the article I published here a couple of days ago about health and health product related websites. In that article, I invited those of you who market health related products or write health tips to tell us how you handle the inherent risks in this type of online marketing.

I’ve been doing a lot of article writing in recent weeks, focusing on keywords that people are searching for in Google which relate closely to my websites. That’s how I expect to draw traffic to the site and, hopefully, earn some money for my efforts through products and services I market on the site.

I’m sure some of you who blog or do affiliate marketing are in health-related niches with your blogs and marketing sites. I’m sure you’ve seen various pitches on various “make-money-online” websites telling you how you can make good money writing reviews for their website or other websites. So, what’s been YOUR experience with such things? Can you make any real money writing online “reviews” of some sort?

Outsourcing of content writing to Third World English speakers (for lack of a better term) appears to be ruining the online writing industry.
The Internet is a VERY big “place,” pretty much unlimited in size, so it’s always difficult to generalize. So, really, I’m only speaking from my limited viewpoint and experience when I make statements about online writing, website and blog content writing, etc.

I’m not sure why my thinking is on affiliate marketing so much more than on writing these days, but that’s just the way my mind is working.
We’ve been going through sort of a double-whammy of family crises the last week or so, but things are getting better. It becomes very hard for me to concentrate on any serious writing projects with such distractions, so I suppose my head has turned away from my writing right now and toward the marketing. But it really is all related anyway, since my online work focuses both on writing and marketing.

As a follow-up to my last article about writing affiliate marketing copy, I wanted to discuss a very popular form of “niche marketing” and affiliate marketing: writing reviews of products and services offered by your affiliate marketing merchant partners.

I have a question for all you bloggers out there: How do you decide what you’re going to write about?
I’ve known many people in the last few years who have started blogging. Many of them really don’t know what they want to write about, but they’ve decided it would be a good thing to blog, so they start blogging.
