Cell phones are great — but what if you need a phone card?
Nothing says family and staying in touch with family like the holidays. As I was writing that post earlier today, I got to thinking about family members I haven't seen or heard from in awhile -- then I remembered the odd, sort of accidentally complicated long distance situation we're in with our home phone line. I won't get into the details, but the short version is we have a terrible long distance carrier and do most of our long distance calling on our cell phone.
Our son, one of the world's last "holdouts" who refuses to get a cell phone, uses a phone card. Which prompted me to look around, and I found an interesting and useful website for phone cards and international calling cards. They're called "Pinshark" (I don't know why?) and they offer a huge variety of prepaid phone cards and calling cards for just about every region of the world. Go take a look. They might have something you'll find useful for staying in touch with your family at the holidays or otherwise all through the year.
