Do you do student loans? Do your kids? Here’s a site to help you with the FAFSA paperwork
I wish when I was filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA a few years ago that I’d had this website to help: FAFSAOnline.com. The purpose and content of the site is to help beleagured student loan applicants get the federal paperwork right. If you’ve been there, or have kids/relatives who have, you know what I mean. In the first place, I HATE filling out forms. Who doesn’t? In the second place, as with everything concerning the federal government, the bevy of forms you need to do it right can be intimidating.
You may wonder what an Old Bald Guy like me remembers about those long ago student loan days? I’ll let you in on a little secret: I borrowed a ton of federal student loan money about eight years ago to work on a master’s degree in history. I planned to be one of those late-in-life college history profs. It didn’t work out, but that’s another story.
I did, however, get my fill of student loan papers, from federal to state to private. I truly would have appreciated a site like FAFSAOnline.com. If you’re in a similar situation, you will appreciate the site, too. Take a careful look around. They offer step-by-step instructions for filling out the FAFSA and other important student loan papers. They also have a good FAQ about the site and the whole student loan process. And, of course, they have some links to sites which could be very helpful if you’re looking for student loan sources.
