Do you write articles to promote your website? Here’s an idea …

If you’re one of the many writers out there seeking to draw traffic to a website by writing articles and submitting them to various online directories, here’s an idea you might want to look at.

The “mother” of all article marketing directories is EzineArticles.com. (If you’ve never been there, go look around. It’s a useful resource for writers of all sorts.) I suspect sort of as a “rip off” of the NaNoWriMo project, ezinearticles.com is promoting a “write 30 articles in 30 days” challenge for the month of November. So especially for those of you who do articles instead of novel-length fiction, I encourage you to look this over. The link above goes to the EzineArticles.com Blog where you can find out more.

I have a few articles in ezinearticles.com related to some of my affiliate marketing. Personally, I’ve never devoted the time and effort to article marketing which I suspect it requires to be really effective. But certainly this 30-day project is worth your consideration if you do article marketing or if you’ve wanted to get started on article marketing.

    Hi Gary,
I’m new to article writing. I heard that Ezine is the best place to submit your articles. A couple of days ago I submitted 4 & only 1 has been accepted and in review! I tell you what, I am learning the hard way there is a lot of competition out there. Barbara

    Hi Barbara,

Yeah, there are tons of people out there writing and submitting articles. One of the issues with EzineArticles.com is that they are so overwhelmed with submissions that they generally take a few days to review and release submitted articles.

I haven’t checked recently, but it used to be that they would take as much as a week or two unless you had at least 10 articles already accepted by them. After that, the submissions get faster review.

I’m not absolutely sure about that time frame, but I’m sure they have author guidelines that will clarify my faulty memory.

Have you read some of my recent posts and the recent comments about Squidoo.com? I don’t know if you’ve tried your hand at Squidoo.com. But I find it much more FUN and even more effective for getting backlinks than article submissions. Give it a look.
