Happy? Here’s a useful website for increasing your happiness level
I’m not all that good at humor, but I AM pretty good at living a generally happy life. How about you? Are you happy as a rule? Happiness is sort of like humor in that you know when it’s there, but you can completely destroy it if you “over think” it.
Here’s a useful website about happiness, including some ideas about developing happiness habits. It’s devoted to a system called “The Sedona Method” which was developed some years ago as a way of dealing with depression as well as a wide range of mind-body ailments.
I honestly haven’t tried the Sedona Method yet myself, but I did look around the website and really liked what I saw. There are some excerpts from Marci Shimoff’s new book, “Happy for No Reason,” and some very interesting videos and video testimonials. One of the people who is mentioned and quoted frequently throughout the site is actress-model Mariel Hemingway, daughter of Ernest Hemingway. She tells of her battles with depression and the help she found using the Sedona Method.
And, yes, though I consider myself a happy person, there are issues in my life which, as the website suggests, I really need to “let go” to increase my daily happiness and sense of satisfaction. I found it very interesting and picked up some “free” ideas there which I know will be helpful to me as a person and as a writer.
Oh, and did I mention their free DVD and CD? It offers samples, testimonials, and useful tips from the full Sedona Method course you can get from the website. Signing up for the free DVD and CD is, well, free.
Take a look around. I know you’ll find some interesting and useful things there to help you be “happy for no reason.”
