Lame writer reviews magnetic braclets and pain relief
In keeping with ongoing repetitive stress problems I’ve been having in recent months, I accepted an offer to review a company’s magnetic bracelets and the possible help wearing magnetic bracelets might give to those with everything from arthritis pain to carpal tunnel syndrome.
The company is an online jewelry dealer, MagnetJewelryStore.com, and the nifty little stainless steel link bracelet I’m wearing is pictured below:
Let me say this upfront: I was totally skeptical about the value of wearing magnetic bracelets or metal or magnetic anything else to relieve pain. I will add that the good folks at MagnetJewelryStore,com are extremely careful to explain that they make absolutely NO medical or healing or health claims of any sort about their products.
They do, however, have an “About Magnets” page on their website. (You can go there through the link above, then click on the “About Magnets” link in their site navigation.) That page relates information about why millions of people are wearing magnets and a theory behind how they MAY be beneficial to us human beings. Take all that for what you will.
Personally, I’ve been wearing this little bracelet for three days now — and I actually have cut back significantly on the amount of over-the-counter pain tablets I’ve been taking daily for the last 8-9 months. I’m NOT saying the magnetic bracelet has somehow “healed” me of anything. I’m not even suggesting that wearing the bracelet is the cause of less stiffness in my wrist, elbow, bicep, and shoulder.
What I am saying is this: Whether the bracelet helps or not or whether there’s some sort of “placebo” effect going on, my “lameness” seems to be less steady and less intense than it was last week. (Whether I’m mentally as lame or write as lamely, I’ll leave up to YOU to decide.)
I’ll keep wearing the bracelet, and let you know at a later day whether I really think it has been really helpful. Can’t hurt. Besides, I’m not really a jewelry guy, but this really is a nice looking little bracelet.
