Looking for some Folly Beach real estate, or ideas for an adventure novel? Here’s the site for you
I've never been to South Carolina, but I have a friend who lived there several years and fell in love with the coastal areas of the state. Here's a "Useful Website" for you if you're looking for some Folly Beach real estate. My maps tell me Folly Beach is southward along the coast from my friend lived on Pawleys Island, but I'd happily take any island property. I've always loved being along the coast -- just about ANY coast.
Which is what led me to this website: I've been reading and watching on television as the Republicans held their presidential shindig in South Carolina, getting ready for the Democrats' turn next weekend. It occurred to me, just for fun, to look around the Internet for information about South Carolina. One thing led to another, and I found myself focusing on the coastal islands of that fair state. I was quickly reminded that it's one of the regions of our country where there were pirates. And shipwrecks. And hurricanes. Maybe someday, when I'm a rich blogger or best-selling novelist, I'll pack up my few belongings, my wife, our old cat, and head for the ocean.
According to the information on the "Folly Beach Real Estate" website, a writer could do much worse for an historically intriguing place to live. They say, as I mentioned above, that Folly Beach's story, "is a story of pirates, shipwrecks, disease and soldiers. But despite all of this, and the effects of a hurricane, the island has grown to become a thriving beach side community."
So go take a look around this useful website. Even if you don't want to move to the island, you might get some ideas for that next adventure novel. Shipwrecks? Pirates? Hurricanes? Hmm ...
