Yes, Tina, sadly enough, you seem to be an egomaniac.

NAH! Just kidding. I can remember a few things I’ve written that left me feeling happy inside and even somewhat amazed that I’d written them. They were “right” from the get-go and required very little rewriting. Makes you especially pleased to be a writer when that happens, doesn’t it?

Now if I could just write something novel-length that felt that good, I’ll bet I could make some money with it. Hmmmm.

Hi Skeet. The most idiotic, embarrassing thing I remember doing as far as public speaking goes was when I pastored a small church many years ago in a town of about 375 people. I can laugh about it now, but my wife, Shirley, and the good folks of our little 20-member congregation were left somewhere between puzzled and astounded. The story's too long to recount here. My experience is much like yours. I’ve done my share of public speaking and media events. Sweaty palms, dropped cards, coughing fits, forgotten lines – not my finest hours! Rather embarrassing, really. Writing works for me because I can tweak and polish until I have something that shines.

I’m liking your blog more and more. Glad I found you! But what do I know? I’m just a gal who reads the blogs. ;0)
