Take a look at my newest web project — ‘Pirate Lore and Treasure’
Take a look at my newest web project — “Pirate Lore and Treasure” — and tell me what you think about the site, please. (I prefer that you leave a comment about it right there on that site, by simply adding a comment to the featured article at the top of the home page, the one titled “Pirates, privateers, and their world.”
Harrrggghh! (Or perhaps you’d prefer “Yarrrgggh” or something like it?) Everybody needs a pirate site, Mateys. And no time better than now to start my own.
Seriously, European and American history between 1500-1800 has always been a real kick for me. I thought doing something around pirates would be a fun way to 1) give myself an excuse for reading and writing about pirates, and, 2) perhaps cash in on some affiliate marketing of pirate lore and treasure.
I’ll warn you the site is only getting started, so it’s a bit skimpy on content right now. But I’d like it eventually to become one of the “authority” blogs about pirates and pirate history. I’ve got some great resources about pirates — and some affiliate links to a variety of pirate-themed clothing, costumes, toys, and other pirate lore and treasure.
That’s the big new for today. The “Boss” (my good wife Shirley) has been on my case the last couple of days to spend more time off-line. Seems I’m having some serious hand-arm-shoulder problems right now related to carpel tunnel syndrome or something like that. Indeed, I’ve been trying to type this with my left hand only. More tomorrow or Sunday, I promise.

Essential reading for National Talk Like a Pirate Day (September 19).
Ah, yes. I could not remember when “Talk Like a Pirate Day” is scheduled. I’ll make a note in my calendar and be sure to post about that.
