Tips for writers and musing about writing and life

Tell us about your writing — the who, what, when, where, why, and how of it all

Tell us all how you do your writing. What physical setting do you prefer? Do you write best when you’re alone or around other people? Do you prefer working straight into a computer by keyboarding, or do you like to write longhand then keyboard (or have someone else keyboard) your stuff into a computer? Are you one of those rare people out there who uses a, uh, typewriter — or do you even know what a typewriter is?

I bring all this up because I was musing about the writing craft, and my own small bit of crafting at it, and realized that “writer” means so many things to so many people — including different styles of writing, languages, physical settings, writing tools, etc.

I would love some comments, feedback of some sort, by those of you who come here from time to time, telling us all about your writing background, experience, and writing habits. I wouldn’t require you to hit all the points I mentioned in the first paragraph, nor would I wish to limit you to the stuff there.
